Soy and rape oil sellers took their cue from the Chicago futures market which opened lower as world financial markets continued to slide. Trading on the European market was slow with business hampered by holidays in the Far East and Wednesday's trade dinner in London. Dutch soy oil closed three to five guilders lower after Nov fetched 135.50 and 135.00 guilders, Dec 129.50 and Jan 125.00 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Dutch/EU rape oil was two to 2.50 guilders down with trading reported in Dec at 133.50 and Jan at 128.50 and 129.00 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. However, trader said amounts sold were small. "I don't think anything bigger than 100 tonnes at a time has been done," said one. Crude palm oil shed $2.50 during the afternoon, but the rest of the palm oil market was unchanged from Wednesday's close.
