Gains on the soft oils triggered light short-covering ahead of the weekend break, they added. At the close, the soft oils stood 1.25 to two guilders above Thursday's close. All the soft oil trade was confined to soy oil, with Nov fetching 116 guilders and Feb/Apr at 112.50/113. Palm oils ended $2.50 either side of the previous close. Just one afternoon trade emerged for Nov/Dec olein at $550. The lauric oils also ended $2.50 above/below Thursday's finish. Coconut oil was the only traded commodity in this sector, with $632.50 and $640 paid for Nov/Dec and Dec/Jan respectively.
