Cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) Malaysia Sdn Bhd, estimated Malaysia's palm oil exports for October 1-15 at 353,123 tonnes against 388,986 for September 1-15. The palm oil sector ended $5 to $10 down on the back of the SGS data, although stearin bucked this trend by closing $2.50 up. Trade during the afternoon session was virtually non-existent with just olein Jan/Mar at $550 done. Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA), said Malaysia's palm oil stocks rose 8.52 percent to 877,704 tonnes at end-September from 808,779 at end-August, but this was seen as neutral to slightly bearish. Fresh losses on the Chicago soybean oil futures coupled with the bearish palm oil sentiment, saw the soft oil selling levels finish the day mostly 0.25 to one guilder lower. Nov soy oil traded Nov at 118 guilders. The lauric oils closed $5 to $10 lower in sympathy with the rest of the market. Nov/Dec palmkernel oil traded at $615.
