Traders said the only influence to spark any significant movement, came from the firmer start to the Chicago soybean oil futures, although this was confined to the soft oil sector. The soft oils closed one to 1.50 guilders firmer. Soy oil traded Oct at 121.50 guilders and Feb/Apr at 115, while rape oil saw 122 guilders paid for Nov and 119/119.50 for Jan. The lauric oils eased as sellers found buyers unwilling to pay the prices being asked of them. At the close, coconut oil stood $5 to $10 lower throughout all positions. Trade albeit light, ranged from Oct/Nov at $610 to Jan/Feb at $635/$632.50. Palmkernel oil ended $7.50 to $10 lower, with only Nov/Dec traded at $607.50/$605.
