"The KLCE will have a 100 ringgit limit on Tuesday and people will be waiting to see if they hit it," said one trader. However, other traders expect profit-taking to put a break on the market. "The market is due for a downside correction and it would not surprise me if we saw the longs taking there profits," said another. A weak ringgit sent the Malaysian futures market up the limit towards the close with good export data adding to the bullish sentiment in Europe. Malaysian cargo surveyor SGS put local exports of palm oil during September 1-20 at 494,746 tonnes against 414,507 tonnes at August 1-20. Traders said this appeared to confirm the upturn in Malaysian exports. No business was reported for crude palm oil, but olein was active with trading reported in Sep at $547.50, Oct at $550 and $547.50, Nov/Dec at $552.50, $550 and $547.50, Dec at $550 and Nov/Dec and Jan/Mar at $550 a tonne fob Malaysian ports. Stearin was quiet with only two trades report for Nov/Dec and Jan/Mar at $410 a tonne fob Malaysian ports. At the close of business crude palm oil cif Europe was $10 up while among products RBD palm oil was $15 higher and olein $10 above Friday's close. Stearin finished $12.50 up. Coconut oil closed with sellers $2.50 to $7.50 up after Nov/Dec traded at $645, Dec/Jan at $650 and Jan/Feb at $650 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil was $5 to $10 higher at the close in a tradeless markets. Traders reported little activity in soft oils which closed with soy oil 1.25 guilders up to 0.25 guilders down while rape oil was 0.50 guilders up after Nov/Jan traded at 112.75 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill.
