YUGOSLAV PRESIDENT SPEAKS IN NEW PARLIAMENT

BELGRADE, March 3 (Hina) - The Belgrade Agreement signed a year ago, which led to the final constitution of the Assembly of Serbia-Montenegro, gave everyone something and no-one everything, Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica said on Monday to MPs in the new parliament of that new union.
BELGRADE, March 3 (Hina) - The Belgrade Agreement signed a year ago, which led to the final constitution of the Assembly of Serbia- Montenegro, gave everyone something and no-one everything, Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica said on Monday to MPs in the new parliament of that new union. #L# The new country will have to continue to fight prejudices that exist in the international community, of which the most important being the "unilateral co-operation with the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague", Kostunica said. The new country will have to have a "clear state strategy because crimes did occur and we ourselves need to face the truth, primarily for the sake of the hundreds of thousands of refugees in Serbia and Montenegro," Kostunica said. "What is most important is that we have gathered both representatives from Serbia and Montenegro from areas that until recently were irreconcilable," he added. He continued that the success of the new country of Serbia- Montenegro depended on whether the temporary nature of that community will be transformed into something permanent and whether there will be strength and wisdom for the current borders not to be changed and that not one section of territory be lost. He particularly stressed that Kosovo was not the only region where centrifugal forces exist but it was the clearest example of this. (Hina) sp it sb
