BELGRADE, Feb 21 (Hina) - The Vatican Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Cardinal Jean Louis Tauran, said on Friday the Holy See would support Serbia and Montenegro's joining European associations if the country continued to implement the
democratisation process.

Tauran told a news conference in Belgrade that during talks with
Serbia and Montenegro's officials and dignitaries of the Serb
Orthodox Church he did not receive an invitation for Pope John Paul
II to visit Serbia.
Over the last several days, Cardinal Tauran held talks with Serbia
and Montenegro's Foreign Minister, Goran Svilanovic, President
Vojislav Kostunica and the head of the Serb Orthodox Church,
Patriarch Pavle, as well as other Serb Orthodox Church dignitaries
and representatives of other religious communities in the
country.
