Djindjic said that the government in Belgrade expected the
international community to respect Belgrade's stands when dealing
with the issue of Kosovo. He repeated that he could not accept
claims that it was too early to tackle the problem.
Solana said the EU requested that the Constitutional Charter of
Serbia and Montenegro and the law on its implementation be applied
and that the new country begin to function as soon as possible.
Before meeting Djindjic, Solana met the President of Serbia and
Montenegro, Vojislav Kostunica.
