Merino fleece of 19/20 microns was slightly cheaper, 21/23/24m slightly dearer, 22m 0.5 percent dearer, 25m unchanged and 26m slightly cheaper while merino skirtings were fully firm. In crossbreds, 27/28/29m were 0.5 percent cheaper, 30m one percent cheaper and 31m unchanged. In cardings, lambs were generally unchanged, locks up to one percent cheaper and crutchings unchanged. WI said Japanese interests including China were principal operators with good support from Western Europe and most sectors of the trade. Of the 23,996 bales offered, 8.0 percent were passed in. In early Fremantle trading, merino fleece of 20/22m was fully firm, 21/24/25m one percent cheaper and 23m unchanged.
