Merino fleece of 19/20/21/25 microns was slightly dearer, 22m slightly cheaper, 23/24m 0.5 percent dearer and 26m unchanged. Merino skirtings of 19m were slightly dearer with 20/21m firm. In crossbreds, 27/30m were slightly dearer, 28m unchanged and 29/31m 0.5 percent dearer. In cardings, merino lambs were unchanged, with crossbred lambs 1.5 percent dearer, locks generally unchanged and crutchings firm. WI said Japanese interests including China were principal operators with good support from Western Europe and most sectors of the trade. Of the 22,551 bales offered, 7.4 percent were passed in.
