However, traders were wary and unwilling to do any more. "Chicago in came lower as expected, but most people will want to see the close because they suspect that the bulls will find something in the weather to turn the market," said one trader. Palm oil finished unchanged from midday no further business reported. Palm oil prices rose on the back of the higher Chicago close on Thursday and traders said they were surprised by the resilience of the market. "People keep hitting palm oil with talk of one million tonne stocks, but every time it bounces back," said one. Coconut oil closed lower after a flurry of dealer trading, business was nowhere near as active as on Thursday. At the close Dutch soy oil was 1.50 to 0.50 guilders up while rape oil was 1.50 to 2.50 guilders higher after Nov/Jan traded at 109 guilders a 100 kilos. Crude palm oil and products finished unchanged to $2.50 higher. Coconut oil offers were $2.50 down after Jul/Aug and Aug/Sep traded at $550 a tonne cif in outright business while Jun/Jul traded at $550 in a switch with Aug/Sep at even money.
