ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The UN High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) today warned that the humanitarian situation in the
besieged Bihac town, where food supplies are all but depleted, was
becoming more desperate.
The Bihac hospital is to receive the last 11 metric tonnes of
food in the next week," UNHCR spokeswoman in Zagreb, Alemka
Lisinski, said.
She said the UNHCR faced problems in dispatching food because
of the fuel shortage.
The International Committee of the Red Cross has reported
that yesterday it delivered the last of its food supplies to Bihac
citizens.
"Bihac now has a new enemy - starvation," said Sarajevo radio
on the current Bihac situation.
Some 180,000 Bihac residents had recently received 55 grams of
food daily, Bosnian authorities said.
