"The fact that four persons indicted by the Tribunal since
1995 are reportedly holding public law enforcement positions and
were easily located by the media is another example of blatant
disregard of the international law," the Tribunal's statement
forwarded to HINA said on Wednesday.
The accused were: Zeljko Meakic, indicted on 13 February 1995
as Chief Commander of the Omarska Camp and charged with genocide,
crimes against humanity and war crimes, Miroslav Kvocka and Mladen
"Krkan" Radic, indicted on 13 February 1995 as officials in command
of the Omarska Camp and charged with crimes against humanity and
war crimes, and Nedjeljko Timarac, indicted on 21 July 1995 as a
frequent visitor of the Keraterm Camp and charged with crimes
against humanity and war crimes.
The Tribunal stressed that warrants for the arrest of the
accused had been issued in 1995 and forwarded to the appropriate
local authorities, while copies of these documents as well as other
relevant details had been forwarded to IFOR.
"Nonetheless, the accused have not been arrested: the fact
that they are still walking free is a clear breach of the
provisions of the Security Council Resolution establishing that
Tribunal and of the Dayton Peace Agreement. If true, the fact that
they are holding public offices is an additional breach of the
Dayton Agreement," the statement said.
