SPLIT, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Supreme Court has upheld a
decision by the Split County Court to extradite Zlatko Aleksovski,
indicted for crimes against the Moslem population in the Lasva
river valley of central Bosnia, to the International Criminal
Tribunal in The Hague, Split County Court president Igor Benzon
said on Thursday.
Aleksovski had been arrested by Croatian police in the
southern Adriatic port city of Split in June on the basis of an
indictment by the Hague-based tribunal. The Split County Court
passed a decision on his extradition in July.
Aleksovski's extradition can be delayed only by the Minister
of Justice if there are justified reasons, such as illness.
