Granic informed the guests about a meeting of signatories to
the Dayton peace accord held in Rome last weekend.
Granic said he was satisfied that a compromise on Mostar had
been reached, which proved Croatia's resoluteness and commitment
to resolving all contentious issues under the peace agreements
reached in Washington and Dayton.
Speaking of the normalization of relations between Croatia and
Yugoslavia, Granic said that the Croatian delegation in Rome had
held useful talks with Yugoslav representatives.
Granic said he expected that a return visit to Zagreb by the
Yugoslav foreign minister would bolster the process of
normalizing relations between Zagreb and Belgrade.
The European delegates expressed hope that the Rome agreements
would be implemented successfully.
They informed Granic that the European Parliament would soon
discuss Croatia's admission to the PHARE programme.
