Sanader stressed the positive role of the Monitoring Mission
during the war in Croatia and agreed with the estimation that new
circumstances, after the end of war in the region, would bring new
tasks for the Mission.
It was most important at present to secure the implementation
of the Dayton agreements on Bosnia-Herzegovina and work on the
establishment of institutions of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina as well as on the preparation of parliamentary
elections, Sanader said.
With those aims but also with the aim of monitoring human and
national rights, the Monitoring Mission should intensify its
presence in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sanader said.
Ambassador Pardo thanked for the support Croatia had provided
to the EU Monitoring Mission and informed Sanader about the
Mission's plans in the Croatian Danubian area and Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
