ZAGREB, Jan 24 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received the incoming EU Monitor Mission Chief, Ambassador Giorgio
Franchetti Pardo, the President's office said in a statement.
Following is the full text of the statement:
"Wishing Ambassador Pardo an agreeable and profitable stay in
Croatia, President Tudjman stressed that Croatia was a part of the
European family of nations, as was proved by the presence of
numerous manifestations of European civilisations on Croatian soil.
Ambassador Pardo expressed hope for successful cooperation,
readiness to view Croatia from an objective standpoint and trust
that Italy's chairmanship of the European Union would contribute to
the peaceful reintegration of the still occupied parts of Croatia.
Ambassador Pardo was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission
Carlo Ungaro.
Also present were the head of the President's cabinet, Furio
Radin, Deputy Chief-of-Staff Vesna Skare Ozbolt and Assistant
Foreign Minister Hidajet Biscevic."
