CROATIA WILLING TO SEND POLICE FORCE TO MOSTAR - SUSAK

ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Gojko Susak said on Friday that Croatia was willing to send its police to maintain law and order in the southern Bosnian town of Mostar. "Koschnik is likely to send a request to the Republic of Croatia to send a certain number of police officers, in which case we will do it," Susak told reporters after meeting Mostar's EU administrator Hans Koschnik in Zagreb. Susak said that Koschnik would meet Mostar's Croat and Moslem mayors, Mijo Brajkovic and Safet Orucevic, on Monday and expressed confidence that progress in resolving the situation in the town would be made next week. "I hope we will get better answers next week" about the deployment of Croatian police and ways in which the EU could exert better influence on the Croats and Moslems, Koschnik said.
