OSIJEK, April 14 (Hina) - Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Branimir Glavas Wednesday said that claims in some press releases about the alleged large number of illegal border crossings by Yugoslav citizens to the Croatian Danube region
were tendentious and untrue. At a meeting with representatives of the Erdut authorities, this fact was confirmed by Osijek-Baranja chief-of-police Dubravko Jezercic. He reported that from 26 March to date, 3069 foreigners crossed the border at Erdut and Batina of whom three thousand had border passes. The remaining 69 presented Yugoslav passports. This is all in keeping with Croatia's laws on visas, Jezercic said. He added that persons with three-day border passes were all registered on their way out of the country.
