ZAGREB, March 16 (Hina) - In January, 2.31 billion kuna (approximately 350 million dollars) were collected in the Croatian state budget, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday. Most of it, or 2.2 billion kuna, were the tax receipts,
while 339 million kuna were ensured by income taxes which was 2.9 percent less than in the same month last year due to the increase in the non-taxable income. Yields from the profit taxes amounted to 131 million kuna, while the yields from the Value Added Tax (VAT) totalled 1.1 billion kuna. According to the ministry's figures, in January 2.96 billion kuna were spent for the expenditure and borrowing.
