The meeting was held by Olga Krasovic-Rogulja and Benjamin Lukman,
the Croatian and Slovenian representatives respectively who co-
chair the joint standing commission in charge of the implementation
of the bilateral agreement on traffic and cooperation.
Present at the Mokrice meeting were the co-chairmen of the joint
sub-commission for fishing, Zlatko Homen and Franc Potocnik, the
Croatian Foreign Ministry reported.
The two sides agreed that both Zagreb and Ljubljana should invest
efforts to defuse the situation on the sea, as this was seen as a
pre-condition for the further implementation of the economic
fishing.
The implementation of the said agreement can help permanently
remove possibilities for incidents along the border on the sea,
according to a joint statement released after the Mokrice meeting.
The working session in Mokrice draw up solutions on the issuing of
licences and on the control of the catch in the border area in the
Bay of Piran.
The proposed solutions will make it possible for the sub-commission
to prepare adequate conclusions at its meeting, scheduled for late
August.
The officials of both countries agreed that the implementation of
the agreement on traffic and cooperation was of the exceptional
importance for the development of good neighbourly ties between
Croatia and Slovenia, read the statement issued by the Croatian
foreign ministry.
