ZAGREB, Dec 30 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Tuesday held a
closed session chaired by Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa, the
Government's Communications Office said in a statement.
The Government adopted a decision according to which Croatian
immigrants and returnees, in line with the general principle of
avoiding double taxation on turnover tax, are free of paying
customs fees on pieces of furniture which they have been in
possession of before returning or moving to Croatia.
The Government also passed a decree on the abolition of the Office
for Cooperation with Peace Operations as of January 15, 1998. In its
place the Government established the Office for Cooperation with
the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, whose
basic task will be to follow the activity of the OSCE and to offer
expert and other assistance to the OSCE. The decree on the
establishment of the said office comes into effect on January 15,
1998.
