ZAGREB, Dec 17 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation headed by Foreign
Minister Mate Granic is to fly to Copenhagen on Wednesday to attend
a two-day conference of the Council of Ministers of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The three plenary sessions will focus on a common and comprehensive
security model for Europe in the 21st century.
Of special interest to Croatia is the issue concerning an OSCE
monitoring mission in the Danube river region in the east of the
country after the UN transitional administration leaves in
January.
The OSCE mandate will be discussed as part of decisions concerning
the financing of major OSCE missions, and will be the central topic
of Granic's bilateral talks.
According to the Croatian delegation, Croatia will welcome the
monitoring mission, but will also clearly specify the limits within
which it believes the OSCE mission should assist Croatia.
Cooperation will require that the activity of the OSCE monitoring
mission be clearly outlined, they said.
