COPENHAGEN, Dec 19 (Hina) - The OSCE Council of Ministers ended a
meeting in Copenhagen on Friday adopting guidelines for the
European Security Charter which will define the model of European
security for the 21st century and the organisation's future role.
The council welcomed the strengthening of the OSCE mission in
Croatia, whose main task will be to protect human rights and ensure
the two-way return of refugees.
It also supported a democratic and multi-ethnic Bosnia-Herzegovina
and the peace agreement.
The ministers expressed regret over a lack of democracy in the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, comprising Serbia and Montenegro.
They expressed deep concern about increasing tensions in the
southern Serbian province of Kosovo, calling on the Belgrade
government and local Albanian leaders to begin dialogue in order to
find a political solution.
