Merino fleece was mixed, with 19/20 micron 1.5 percent cheaper, 21m up to one percent cheaper, 22m up to 1.5 percent dearer, 23m slightly dearer, 24m up to one percent dearer and 25/26m one percent cheaper. In merino skirtings, 19m and finer were two percent cheaper and 20/21m one percent cheaper. In crossbreds, 27m were 1.5 percent dearer, 28m 0.5 percent dearer, 29m 0.5 percent cheaper, 30m 1.5 percent cheaper and 31m slightly cheaper. In cardings, washing locks were two percent cheaper, light carbonising locks one percent cheaper and crutchings unchanged. WI said Japanese interests including China were principal operators with support from Western Europe and most sectors of the trade. Of the 12,138 bales offered, 14.1 percent were passed in.
