MOSTAR CROATS CRITICISE E.U. ADMINISTATOR'S DECREE

MOSTAR, July 12 (Hina) - Thursday night's announcement of an EU administration decree on election results prompted sharp criticism from Bosnian Croat officials in west Mostar who said on Friday they would not take part in the establishment of the City Council. The mayor of Croat-held west Mostar, Mijo Brajkovic, who headed the list of Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) candidates in the June 30 election, told Croat radio in the city that "the Croat side will not participate in the formation of the Mostar City Council until the Bosnian Federation Constitutional Court passes a ruling on a complaint filed by the HDZ city committee over irregularities during the Mostar election." The president of Mostar's HDZ, Mile Puljic, told the radio that "no conditions have been created for us to participate in the establishment of the City Council and municipal councils." "We believe that the passage of the decree was not defined by any document," Puljic said, adding that EU administator Ricardo Perez Casado's decision was in violation of law.
