PROCEDURE
MOSTAR, 9 July (Hina) - The Mostar Election Commission has
established yet another irregularity concerning the local elections
which were held on 30 June. The final official election results
would therefore not be published yet, secretary of the Election
Commission, Vjekoslav Lovric, told reporters today. #L#
According to Lovric, a special election commission member,
Semir Saric, had participated in the elections as a candidate on a
list in eastern Mostar, and had been elected to the City Council,
which was contrary to the election law.
The City Election Commission forwarded the case to the
Committee for the Supervision of Elections.
The decision of the EU ombudsman in Mostar, Constantin Zepos,
to annul the decision of the City Election Commission, which
demanded that the election result in Bonn be annulled because 26
extra ballots had been found at the polling station, was described
by Lovric as 'illegal' .
'The election law is clear about this - election results have
to be annulled at those polling stations at which extra ballots are
found', Lovric said.
