MOSTAR CROATS MAY OFFER COLLECTIVE RESIGNATION FROM ELECTORAL BODI

BODI $ ES MOSTAR, 10 July (Hina) - The secretary of the Mostar Election Commission, Vjekoslav Lovric, told a press conference on Wednesday that Croat representatives in the Mostar Election Commission, municipal election commissions and the Committee for the Supervision of Elections, would offer a collective resignation in case the EU Administration publicized the final results of the 30 June elections in a decree. Lovric confirmed that the president of the Election Commission, Reuf Zaimovic, had sent a letter to the EU Administrator of Mostar, Ricard Perez Casado, asking him that the final election results be publicized by the European Union and not the Election Commission. 'Zaimovic has also asked from Casado to dissolve the Election Commission', Lovric said, adding he was disappointed because Zaimovic had not informed him about the decision. 'The possible adoption of a decree by the EU Administration in Mostar, which would include the publicizing of the final election results, is contrary to any legal principle and principles of the organization of elections', Lovric added. The publicizing of election results is the task of the Election Commission, Lovric recalled, adding the Commission could not publicize the results until it solved numerous irregularities in the election procedure. It had been established that there were 1,335 fewer ballots than the number of voters in the municipality of Stari grad. 'During the transport of ballots to the polling station in Bern, a bag with some 8,000 was lost'. 'Those were blank ballots intended for the vote of Mostar refugees', Lovric explained. Two persons with the same name and surname had voted both in Mostar and Bonn, Lovric said, also recalling the case of 26 extra ballots in Bonn. (hina) rm 101855 MET jul 96
