SARAJEVO, Feb 8 (Hina) - A former Bosnian Premier, Haris Silajdzic,
Wednesday confirmed that he would establish a new political party
which will participate in the next elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

"I shall form a new party and you will be informed about this
very soon," Silajdzic told a news conference in Sarajevo. However,
he declined to disclose more details on this matter.
After Silajdzic refused a mandate of a prime minister
designate for a new Bosnian government and left the (Moslem-led)
Party of Democratic Action, or SDA, Silajdzic today officially
confirmed that he was intending to take part in the political life
of the country.
Commenting on a decision by Hans Koschnik on the city of
Mostar, Silajdzic said the international community had to
resolutely back efforts made by the EU Administrator Koschnik in
order to solve the problem of the centre of Herzegovina in the end.
"The EU has come into Mostar to help sustain the multi-ethnic
character of the city. It must not be divided according to the
(former) confrontation line, as it would be the justification of
ethnic cleansing," Silajdzic told the conference.
According to him, in this case not only the destiny of Mostar
but also of the entire Federation (its peaceful reintegration) was
put in question.
Speaking about the Croatian response to the announced decision
by Koschnik, Silajdzic, who had attended the last round of
negotiations on this problem, said that now some intentions were
clear, such as "to lead to the division of the Bosnian Federation
into two national territories, by division of Mostar."
"I personally can influence and I shall influence through
international factors that Mostar should not be divided," Silajdzic
said.
