"We need such a man, especially in difficult times ahead of
us," Muratovic told the Bosnian news agency BH Press, commenting on
Silajdzic's attitude.
Muratovic said that he was convinced that the Bosnian
government could fulfil its duties, even if it would be made up of
only five ministries.
The new central government, whose forming was laid down in the
Dayton peace accord, would present two entitities comprising
Bosnia-Herzegovina - the Moslem-Croat federation and the Serb
republic.
The Bosnian presidency was expected to appoint Muratovic prime
minister-designate after which his appointment should be approved
by the Republic's Assembly.
Muratovic was born in 1940 in Olovo, central Bosnia. He
graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana,
Slovenia, and earned a doctorate in organizational sciences. He is
now a full-time professor at the University of Sarajevo.
