ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - Today's Zagreb-based daily of Vjesnik
devotes a comment piece to the BBC's documentary "Death of
Yugoslavia", which has drawn much attention after beginning of its
broadcasting at the Croatian state television last Thursday.
"The authors of the serial initiated their observation from
the fact that Yugoslavia was legitimate. But they neglected its
peoples' right to refuse dictate. Many facts were thus lightly
passed over and one may get an impression they would even justify
the military intervention," the comment piece says.
Another comment piece analyzes Bosnian Prime Minister Haris
Silajdzic's resignation -- which seemed to be welcomed among the
Bosnian Croat officials, because it was precisely Silajdzic, the
paper says, who had caused the failure of the Mostar city setup on
Tuesday.
Another Zagreb-based daily of Vecernji List, too, carries a
similar comment on Silajdzic's resignation, under headline
"Federation's Brakeman Leaves".
The paper carries an interview with Major General Zivko
Budimir who speaks of the shape of the future Bosnian federal army.
In Croatia, the announced demobilization of the armed forces
would inevitably cause employment difficulties as well as the
problem of soldiers' adaptation to civilian life conditions. This
is the issue of the paper's main story under headline "After War --
the Battle for Work".
