Mossad means the institute for the intelligence and special services of Israel (Ha Mossad, le Modiyin ve le Tafkidim Mayuhadim). The establishment and history of Mossad are tightly linked with history and the struggle for survival of the Jewish people and the Israeli State, said Antun Abramovic, a reviewer of the Croatian version of this book at the promotion in Zagreb. The chief task of Mossad is the struggle for the survival and maintenance of th Israeli State, Abramovic added. The organisation and relations between employees (with Mossad) are arranged on the principle of democracy. Mossad is ready to be adjusted to quick changes within its system and to new circumstances, and that's why it is so efficient, he said. Uri Dan became a well-known journalist after he together with Ben Porat published a book about Eli Cohen, a Mossad agent, who was sentenced to death and hanged in Damascus, Syria, 1965. The book entitled "A Spy Who Has Come from Israel (unofficial translation)" was released in 1967. The critical attitude toward Mossad is a basic characteristic of Uri Dan, but the purpose of his criticism is to help improve Mossad further, said a writer, Vjekoslav Boban, during the presentation of Dan's book in Zagreb.
