ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted
measures to prepare the issuing of bills of exchange as a form of
compensation for property seized during the communist regime in the
former Yugoslav federation.
The government also passed a decision on initiating proceedings for
the signing of an agreement on state borders between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina, said a statement from the government's Media
and Public Relations Office.
The government issued Croatian Radio-Television a grant from the
state budget to finance parts of the programme which are of special
national interest, namely programmes for Croats outside of the
country, as well as educational and satellite programmes.
The government formulated a draft decision on appointing Ante
Tomasic general consul to the United States, based in Cleveland.
Joso Skara, Vera Babic, Nenad Porges, Borislav Skegro, and Stjepan
Bacic were appointed government representatives in the Economic-
Social Council, a body in which representatives of the government,
trade unions, and employers harmonise interests.
Also adopted was a motion to have the Croatian Privatisation Fund
grant Zagreb-based furniture factory Savric a short-term loan to
pay two backlog paycheques to factory employees, who protested
earlier this week. The loan will be the first step in a programme for
the financial restructuring of the factory.
