ZAGREB, June 17 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament House of
Representatives on Friday supplemented its agenda with another
seven bills, including draft amendments to the Constitutional Law
on the Constitutional Court, customs bills and a bill on passports
for Croatian citizens.
Because of the extensive agenda, as another 30 items will be
discussed, Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic announced the
session would continue until the end of this month.
MPs voted in several Government reports -- on the economic and
social situation, the implementation of parliament decisions on
settling debts in the health system, and about the implementation
of parliament decisions on the situation in agriculture.
The Lower House obligated the Government to define the prices of
fuel for agriculture and fishery.
It is because of this decision that the House did not vote on draft
amendments to the law on special taxes for oil products, which was
discussed Friday morning.
The House adopted amendments to the law on special tax for tobacco
products, which harmonise the law with requests of the World Trade
Organisation.
The amendments equalise taxes for domestic and imported
cigarettes, so taxes for domestic cigarettes will rise, while taxes
for imported cigarettes will be lowered.
Also, the sale of cigarettes in the open will be forbidden.
