ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - The presidency of the Croatian Association
of Employers (HUP) demands that the Government should approve the
rehabilitation of firms by the budget money according to
transparent criteria in the future.
At Wednesday's session, the HUP Presidency opposed decisions made
so far by the Government on the rehabilitation of companies and
resolutely insisted on receiving an explanation from the
Government about those decision.
The HUP claimed that the Government approved the financial re-
organisation under pressure and offhandedly and that such cases of
rehabilitation were unsuccessful.
Such cases of rehabilitation and additional intervention into
economic processes will not improve the situation in businesses as
they are measures to extinguish the fire and not to address the root
of the problem, the HUP added.
That's why this association reiterated their demand that measures
and incentives for certain economic branches should be adopted in
order to help equally to all businessmen, industrial sectors and
the economy as a whole.
The criteria for approving the financial re-organisation should be
based on data on losses, the capital, assets, and the number of
jobs.
The HUP proposes that the Government should invite bids and firms
can apply for the rehabilitation on grounds of these clear
criteria. In this way the equal position will offered to all
economic subjects.
A commission which will consider bids should include officials from
responsible ministries and representatives of employers and trade
unions.
