WASHINGTON, April 21 (Hina) - The World Bank on Tuesday granted to Croatia a small but significant loan for technical assistance in the development of the private sector in the Croatian economy. The US$7.3 million loan is given for 15
years with the five-year-long grace period and the usual LIBOR interest rate. This money should be used for the harmonisation of cadestral signs, the training of the state Statistical Office, the support to the Agency For Rehabilitation of Banks and the set-up of a new agency for the control of utility services. According to a statement of the World Bank, the purpose of the loan is to help create and develop the legal and institutional framework necessary for the further development of the Croatian economy, the private entrepreneurship and the financial sector.
