ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - At Thursday's session the Croatian Government adopted a draft strategy of the development of energy supply in Croatia by the year 2010, with a development vision until 2030. This is a part of the overall
strategy of the economic development of the country and a preparation of the domestic energy supply sector for joining European Union systems. The Government also adopted a report on the work of the State Inspection for last year, and a report of the financial police on the control of businesses of 60 utility companies owned by towns. Utility companies owe the state some US$9.1 million in pension and health insurance, due to which 53 suits have been filed. The Government also adopted six bills which will use as bases for the new Croatian system of protecting intellectual property. Government adopted a draft strategy of the development of energy
supply in Croatia by the year 2010, with a development vision until
2030.
This is a part of the overall strategy of the economic development
of the country and a preparation of the domestic energy supply
sector for joining European Union systems.
The Government also adopted a report on the work of the State
Inspection for last year, and a report of the financial police on
the control of businesses of 60 utility companies owned by towns.

At the end of the session, Economy Minister Nenad Porges said
companies in straits, to which the Government had promised
financial support, did not receive the money.
Finance Minister Borislav Skegro said budget funds could not be
forwarded to the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development
because funds from the budget are being used to help the Pension
Insurance Fund to pay pensions.
Vice-Premier Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, who chaired the session,
concluded that the Government's decision to help the companies
should be implemented as soon as the funds are secured.
