DUBROVNIK-NERETVA COUNTY AGAINST EXTENSION OF UN MANDATE DUBROVNIK, Dec 21 (Hina) - The Dubrovnik-Neretva County assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a declaration against an extension of the UN military observer mandate on the
Ostra cape, and demanded that the government seek the Security Council to discontinue the UN peace-keeping mandate on Prevlaka. The declaration says the southern-most peninsula of Prevlaka, which borders on the Yugoslav republic of Montenegro, does not represent a territorial or security issue in Croatia's relations with the neighbouring countries. The Dubrovnik-Neretva County assembly suggested the government return land on Prevlaka to its owners and their heirs and pay a fair indemnity, i.e. the market value of the property.(hina) np
