VIENNA, Dec 20 (Hina) - Although announced, the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Thursday failed to reach a decision on extending the Mission's mandate in Croatia. It is expected to reach the decision on Friday. The Organisation's
budgetary committee failed to reach a consensus concerning the financing of missions in the field. Diplomatic sources reveal that the OSCE Permanent Council will extend the Croatian Mission mandate for a year, but will decrease manpower to 10%. Also, in mid-2002, the Council will again thoroughly review the Mission's mandate in Croatia, discuss the achieved progress and make further decisions.(hina) lml
