MPs are expected to consider a national programme on the country's
association with the European Union in 2003 and a new stand-by
arrangement with the International Monetary Fund.
It is expected that during the 27th parliamentary session, a very
comprehensive debate will be held on the national programme,
drafted by the government. The Sabor should also pass a resolution
on the matter.
The government has drawn up its resolution, while opposition
parties will try to harmonise a text of their own resolution
tomorrow.
The resolution, proposed by the Ivica Racan Cabinet, emphasises
that the country's full membership in the Union is a strategic
national objective and reiterates that Croatia favours an
individual approach to the Union.
