Mario Nobilo, who attended the session as a guest, said that in all
interparliamentary contacts Croatian representatives should seek
support for Zagreb's candidature for the country's membership in
the Union.
He described the support of the neighbours as important for
Croatia's international aspirations, which implied that Croatia
should further develop regional co-operation and solve problems in
the region without someone else's tutorship. The official added
that Croatia showed its ability for cooperation in the issue of the
regulation of the legal status of the Sava River as an international
waterway and in the issue of Prevlaka.
The goal is to help Croatia leave the category of countries that are
under constant surveillance and to enter a group of countries
entitled to have access to funds for adjustment to the European
Union, Nobilo told the parliamentary committee.
