The resolution would facilitate the speedy and efficient
adjustment of the Croatian legal system with EU standards, the IDS
chief said at a news conference in Pula.
"The IDS believes it is necessary that all Croatian parliamentary
parties sign an inter-party agreement which will bind them not to
exploit the issue of Croatia's entry to the EU in their pre-election
and post-election games, given that it is an issue of national
interest," he said.
In Jakovcic's opinion, those who are against Croatia's admission to
the EU are actually for keeping the country in the political
Balkans.
He said the IDS as a parliamentary party would contribute to
Zagreb's efforts to come closer to the EU.
