This was confirmed by HDZ bench president Vladimir Seks and
minority MPs Furio Radin, Branislav Graljuk and Zdenka Cuhnil.
Talks with HDZ were the continuation of efforts by minority MPs to
negotiate with both ruling coalition and opposition benches to gain
the necessary 101 votes in the Sabor, or a two-third majority,
necessary for parliament to adopt the constitutional law.
MPs from the HDZ and minorities agreed that national minority MPs
should be elected by minority members in special electoral units.
Radin explained that both sides believe it is vital and in Croatia's
interest for the constitutional law to be adopted before the year's
end. They also agreed that a resolution be adopted by consensus in
the Sabor that will state Croatia's motivation to access the
European Union.
