Assessing the results of the visit ahead of leaving, Tomcic said
!that the Chinese showed obvious interest in Croatia and it was not
up to Croatia to use this to attract Chinese investments and
creating other forms of economic cooperation.
On the last day of his visit, Tomcic held talks with Vice-Premier
Donald Tshang and the president of the Legislative Council, Rita
Fan Hsu Lai Tai.
In talks with senior Hong Kong officials, Tomcic wanted to know
about the possibilities of Hong Kong's capital to come to Croatia.
The officials explained that some conditions had to be met first,
including a favourable business climate and respecting the law. The
fact that visas were needed for Croatia does not facilitate the
arrival of Hong Kong's businessmen to Croatia, they said.
