MEDJUGORJE MEDJUGORJE, Oct 1 (Hina) - Croatia will systematically try to prove that the indictment against General Janko Bobetko is untenable, Croatian Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic said at the end of his visit to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, on Tuesday.
MEDJUGORJE, Oct 1 (Hina) - Croatia will systematically try to prove that the indictment against General Janko Bobetko is untenable, Croatian Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic said at the end of his visit to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, on Tuesday. #L# Before his visit to Medjugorje, Tomcic visited Rome and the Vatican, where he presented Croatia's stand on the Bobetko case. The indictment against Gen. Bobetko "affects the feelings of the Croat people exactly because of what happened during the Homeland War and the huge human and material losses," Tomcic said. Tomcic attended today's panel discussion of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) of Bosnia-Herzegovina in his capacity as the leader of Croatia's HSS leader, several days before a general election in the country. Tomcic believes that processes in Bosnia after the elections would give Croats an opportunity to achieve equality, and that the recently launched constitutional changes, including making all three peoples constituent throughout the country, would contribute to them. Speaking about the HSS in Croatia and Bosnia, Tomcic said that these were two political parties which were capable of taking over a leading role in organising the societies in both countries. "The Croatian national being can be divided in two countries, but must share the same values," Tomcic said. he advocated the adoption of the values of brothers Stjepan and Antun Radic, saying that "this would make us closer as parties and as countries." The border separating us should become a border connecting us, he said. Tomcic added that he wished Bosnia to be a country in which Croats would be equal to the other peoples in the country and which would have one government and one parliament. He, thus, indirectly opposed the current existence of two Bosnian entities -- the Bosnian Federation and Republika Srpska. (hina) rml lml sb
