Tauran showed understanding and great knowledge of the situation in
Croatia, Tomcic told reporters after the talks in the Vatican.
Tomcic said Croatia would forward a special letter to the Vatican's
diplomacy explaining the reasons for which Croatia could not accept
the Hague's indictment.
Tomcic and Tomac explained that Croatia intended to continue its
cooperation with the war crimes tribunal, but could not accept the
political assessments in Bobetko's indictment, because they also
attacked Croatia's stability.
Tomcic said Croatia wanted to use the time envisaged by the Hague
tribunal's Statute to explain the reasons for which it could not
accept the Hague indictment.
