Shortly before the expiry of the deadline, a former Yugoslav army
chief-of-staff, Nebojsa Pavkovic, handed over his candidature with
the signatures of 10,000 voters, as required by the election law,
the state-run television reported.
Other candidates are Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica, a
Yugoslav Vice Premier, Miroslav Labus, the Serbian Revival
Movement's chief, Vuk Draskovic, Radical Party leader Vojislav
Seselj, the leader of Social Democrats, Vuk Obradovic, the leader
of the Party of Serbian Unity of the late mobster Zeljko Raznatovic
Arkan, Borislav Pelevic, Velimir Bata Zivojinovic as the candidate
of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Branislav Ivkovic, the
leader of the splinter group from Slobodan Milosevic's SPS.
There is one candidate of a group of citizens, Dragan Radenovic. The
other candidate of a group of citizens, Tomislav Lalosevic, was
given the additional 48-hour-long deadline to produce the
documentation on his permanent place of residence.
