The Conference's commission for justice and peace (Justicia and Pax
Commission) issued a statement reading that Joras' human rights
were being violated in prison as he was not allowed to read poetry
and the Bible in the Slovene language.
The dignitaries assert that excessive measures were taken against
Joras considering the offences he committed.
Earlier in the day the head of the Croatian Justice Ministry's
Prison System Management, Josip Hehet, said Joras was killing time
in the prison infirmary reading the Bible in Slovene and old issues
of Slovene magazines.
