Speaking at the meeting, which addressed the situation in
education, culture, university education, science and cultural
heritage as guarantees of preserving one's identity, was also the
President's advisor Ivica Mastruko.
The worst situation is in Zadar County, where up to 20.7 percent of
the population is illiterate, Pusic said. At the same time, the
percentage of the population with university qualifications is a
great deal higher in Zagreb than in Dalmatia, she said, stressing
that more should be invested into education.
