PRISTINA, June 9 (Hina) - Ibrahim Rugova was unanimously re-elected as the president of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (DSK) at the party's convention in Pristina on Saturday. Opening the convention, Rugova defined the party's
chief tasks in the future: its engagement in the economic development of Kosovo, support to Kosovo institutions and cooperation with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), international Kosovo Force (KFOR) and the mission of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The DSK will "pay particular attention to the protection and integration of minority communities in the Kosovo society," Rugova said. The party also adopted a political declaration emphasising the independence of Kosovo as an existential issue of Kosovo and its people. The declaration proposes that 12 June be proclaimed a national holiday, marking the anniversary of the arrival of international forces in Kosovo
